The Chief Executive Officer (Queensland College of Wine Tourism) (QCWT) is a key leadership and development role which operates in both the informative and business environments to serve the Southern Downs community and industries.
The CEO is responsible for the management and leadership of the College in fulfilment of its strategic and operational objectives as set out in its Strategic Plan and the annual Business Plan and for ensuring that the improvement of the College proceeds in accordance with the Objectives as set out in the QCWT Governance Agreement.
In particular, the CEO of the Wine College is responsible for:
- the quality and performance of the College’s professional and business activities
- the viability and ongoing growth and development of the College
- the growth and quality of the College’s training program, and its engagement with the community and businesses to help meet the region’s training needs
- planning and aligning College resources and staffing with approved strategic objectives and budgets.
The QCWT, a joint venture between the UniSQ and DESBT, has a growing national reputation for its outstanding provision of specialist practice-based education and training for the broad wine tourism industry and is strongly supported by the Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC). Operating in both informative and business environments, the College provides specialist, accredited education and training programs for the wine industry, including viticulture, oenology, tourism, hospitality and business, as well as wine-based experiences for the public at large.

About you
The role requires a highly adaptable leader with outstanding stakeholder and community engagement skills and strong commercial competence and business development skills, ideally within the VET sector. You will have well-developed, adaptive leadership skills and a proven track record in leading commercial operations and resources, particularly financial, physical, and human resources.
