Green Industries SA (GISA), a state government agency withapproximately 30 staff, is an enabler and driver of change,supporting the development of the circular economy through diversecollaborations and partnerships which improve productivity,resilience, resource efficiency and the environment. GISA keepsSouth Australia at the forefront of green innovation in the waste,recycling and resource recovery sectors, delivers reduced waste tolandfill and increases the state’s capacity for recycling andbuilds the capability and resilience in the area of disaster wastemanagement.
Reporting to and working in close partnership with the Board andMinister for Climate, Environment and Water, the Chief Executive(CE) will drive and deliver the overall strategy, vision andperformance of the agency, ensuring alignment with the vision andvalues. You will be responsible for providing strategy andpolicy advice to government, whilst promoting a more economicallyand environmentally sustainable future. Working closely withindustry, this role will require strong stakeholder management andworking with key partners across local and state government toachieve the goals for the economy, whilst focusing on industryeconomic development, government leadership in sustainability andsupporting waste management and resource recovery.
This role requires an engaging leader, with strong relationshipsacross the public sector, who can influence and build stakeholderrelationships, especially within government, that add value. Withprevious executive experience across environmental services, wastemanagement, sustainability or like sectors, coupled with publicpolicy development, you will have strong problem solving skills anda strategic mindset. With proven experience leading teams,delivering on Board expectations and driving governance, you willhave knowledge and experience of the economic impact ofenvironmental policy and be a passionate advocate forsustainability.
