Job description

As Tasmania’s largest private forestry asset management company, Forico represents the transition into a new era in plantation forestry in Tasmania, with a focus on developing quality, healthy, innovative and sustainable plantation forestry practices. Forico employs an experienced team of professional staff to manage the land and forest assets and to operate processing facilities to deliver wood fibre to domestic and international markets. Forico is committed to operating as a sustainable and widely respected business within the Tasmanian community. Visit www.forico.com.au for further information on the organisation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Forico for a CFO to provide executive leadership across the business and oversee the Business Sustainability and Insights team. The CFO is responsible for the financial health of the business and will provide advice to the CEO and Board of Directors on the overall strategic direction of the business. Leadership of a diverse team and harnessing their passion, energy and talent to deliver outstanding results and services will also be a key focus for the role.

Based in Launceston and reporting to the CEO, the CFO provides leadership extending beyond the financial portfolio, including supporting the growth of Forico’s natural capital reporting, carbon markets and ESG initiatives.

This is more than a traditional CFO role and will therefore suit those who are interested in securing a broad and strategic executive role, within a unique and leading-edge commercial business.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic, engaging and collaborative leader with demonstrated experience in a similar senior role. An extensive background in strategic financial management/accounting including management of treasury risk, international trade exposure and Board reporting responsibilities, together with strong commercial acumen is essential. High levels of integrity and ethical decision making, together with an agile approach and excellent stakeholder management skills are also required. Formal qualifications in accounting and CA or CPA are essential and knowledge of accounting in environmental markets would be an advantage.

For a confidential discussion or to request a copy of the position description, please contact Sarah Hingston on 0418 515 *** or Lynne Chapman on 0467 229 *** or ****@chapmanexecutive.com.au. To submit an application, please apply online at www.chapmanexecutive.com.au by Friday, 23 February 2024.
