Hobart City Mission’s (HCM) Shared Services business unit provides support to the whole organisation and is made up of Finance, Property, IT, Marketing and Compliance. The business unit provides solid foundations to allow other parts of the organisation to best support those in need in Southern Tasmania.
Operating under broad direction from the CEO, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, professional people leader to join HCM’s Leadership Team, overseeing our Shared Services business unit and Finance Operations.
In this role, you will:
- Be accountable for monitoring compliance with corporations’ legislation including liquidity requirements
- Provide high level advise to the CEO, Leadership Team and Board on HCM’s financial and cash position
- Lead the development and delivery of Shared Services including mentoring and coaching your teams
- Analyse financial reports and provision of financial performance advice to the Leadership Team, the Finance, Investment and Property Management Committee and the Board of Governance
- Develop annual budget in consultation with members in the Leadership Team
- Liaison with external auditor for the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and grant acquittals
- Manage and oversee the updating of the risk register and documentation relating to the risk management framework
About you:
- CPA or CA qualification is desirable or commitment to work towards achieving one of these qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, management or related field
- Strong communication skills, building positive and collaborative relationships
- Experience leading, coaching and mentoring a team of managers or people leaders;
- Expertise in Finance & Accounting processes, Risk and Compliance, Marketing & Communication, Property & Facilities management, and IT.
