About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, The Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for developing strategies and policies that promote sustainable growth and support the company to maintain its competitiveness by optimising employee engagement, retention and recruitment practices.   The CHRO is responsible for creating and executing Human Resources strategies that support the successful execution of the overall business plan and objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Management of direct reports including recruitment, orientation and training. 
  • Develop and implement Group HR strategic plan.
  • Manage labour forecasting including employee attraction and talent pipeline programs.
  • Develop employer brand and value proposition.
  • Develop and implement succession planning framework.
  • Develop and manage employee engagement and wellbeing programs.
  • Developing diversity and gender equality policies and strategies.
  • Participate in annual business planning process.
  • Develop benchmarked remuneration and benefits programs.
  • Provide leadership to operational HR teams to ensure grievances, investigations and conciliations are managed expertly.
  • Manage legislative compliance.
  • Manage Human Resources annual expenses budget.
  • Develop group Work Health and Safety Management Plan and review annually.
  • Create safe systems of work.
  • Develop frameworks to manage Injury claims and workers compensation management.
  • Manage compliance reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor training programs within the organisation.
  • Undertake leadership development program.

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology or similar.
  • Previous Senior HR & OHS leadership experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed Leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritise based on business objectives and risk.
  • Ability to influence, counsel and mentor.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative. 
  • Sound judgement.
  • The ability to engage with personnel at all levels of employment.
  • High level of ethics, confidentiality, honesty and integrity. 
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • The ability to travel regularly to our regional sites in Victoria.
