Job description

Esri Australia is the exclusive local distributor of Esri's world-leading Geographic Information System (GIS) software and a member of the world's largest group of ArcGIS specialists outside of the United States — the Boustead Geospatial Group.

We are the leader in the Australian geospatial sector, bringing together a team of highly skilled people united in our love for what we do. Our technology is shaping the way we work, live and play — today and into the future — creating the world we want to see.

Reporting to and partnering with the Group Managing Director, our Chief Marketing Officer plays a pivotal role in elevating our brand and fuelling our growth.

We are each committed to delivering real outcomes, and our unwavering work ethic makes sure of it. We are continuously evolving and looking for new ways to grow. That's where you come in!

About the Role

  • Executive leadership opportunity
  • Strategic position in a rapidly advancing technology sector
  • Blue chip regional client base

Working closely with a motivated and engaged senior leadership team, you will help drive our organisation's overall strategy whilst leading the Esri Australia and broader Singapore-headquartered Boustead Geospatial group's evolving marketing functions into the future. You are a creative, data-driven and strategic marketing professional drawing on the very best in contemporary marketing practice who is not afraid to question the status quo.

Focused on the long term and big picture, you act as the leader of an idea, rally and inspire people, and take the initiative to challenge yourself and others - always ensuring the planning, development, and execution of our B2B marketing function leads the pack in integrated approaches to client attraction, value realisation, support, and retention.

Key functions and/or responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Build a vision and delivery roadmap to inspire a highly effective, commercially astute, resilient, and responsive marketing organisation. Establish a culture prioritising client value, business impact, and operational excellence. You will be at the helm of an existing team of 15, you will need to foster a vibrant, collaborative team environment where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and ownership fuels success.
  • Strategy: Ensure the marketing well-being of our group by planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring our overall marketing strategy. Contribute marketing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking across our regional markets. You will need to craft a comprehensive marketing blueprint that aligns with business objectives, propels brand awareness, and fuels market dominance. Building strategic plans, harnessing data insights, embracing innovation, navigating change, and delivering measurable results.
  • Branding: Along with your team, you will need to future-proof the foundation of our brand, anticipate emerging trends and consumer shifts, shaping the brand to thrive in the evolving marketplace, navigating the ever-changing marketing landscape, ensuring the brand's continued relevance and success.
  • Analytics: Enhance an analytics framework that monitors, analyses and reports against performance indicators and benchmarks. Reinforce a culture that prioritises data integrity and insights-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge and opportunity: Create compelling narratives and oversee top-notch storytelling across all mediums. Ensure that the marketing division is employing the best people and latest technologies to maximise effectiveness and guarantee success.
  • Relationships: Manage diverse stakeholders including our parent company, key suppliers, and peer distributors to align marketing strategy and activities. Cultivate relationships with vendors and partners.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the sales, client success and delivery organisations to ensure an integrated approach to buyer/client journeys. Model a culture that prioritises the needs of the business over individual divisional aspirations.

About You

  • Visionary and driven: We are looking for a truly talented individual who has the energy and vision to inspire others across the organisation; an authentic and collaborative leader who succeeds by trusting their high-performing teams and their transformation skills; skills honed over a minimum of six years' combined executive/senior management experience.
  • Articulate and curious: You lead constructive debate with your highly developed communication skills. Getting to the right answer quickly, you solve problems and draw inferences by using evidence, research, and data.
  • Structured and collaborative: Maintaining a critical view on processes, you are highly organised and ready to define new ways of working and/or refining existing practices. Your superior people skills enable you to move a cross-functional group of professionals in a single direction and with a common vision and objective.

As a passionate professional, you are highly self-motivated with demonstrated composure and emotional intelligence - inspiring the same from your marketing division and our entire organisation.

Joining us, you'll become part of one of the most forward-thinking companies - a global trail blazer who's leading the Asia Pac's burgeoning geospatial technology sector. In exchange for your commitment, we offer a competitive salary package including profit share benefits.

  • A tertiary qualification in related discipline or relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading, developing, and delivering effective marketing strategies evidenced by increases in sales.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of contemporary digital technologies, trends and platforms and how they can be used to drive impact, loyalty and engagement.
  • Well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility - with a focus on brand management and lead generation.
  • Collaboration skills: Ability and desire to genuinely collaborate and be open to feedback and other perspectives.
  • Strong technical competence and practice of effectively leveraging data-driven insights.
  • Working rights - You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Attitude and behaviour align with Esri Australia's core values.

This role is Brisbane based - please note prior applications remain on file for consideration.
