Omnicom Media Group has an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Chief Marketing Officer to join us in a newly created role to support us as we enter our next phase of growth.

Reporting into the OMG Group CEO, this is a strategic leadership position and the successful candidate will join the OMG Leadership Group.

OMG includes the full-service media networks OMD Worldwide, PHD Network and Hearts & Science, as well as specialist agencies, OMG Digital (Programmatic Trading & Digital Marketing) and Annalect (Consultancy, Data and Analytics). We offer unparalleled clout in the marketplace, as well as a depth of capabilities and experience to drive leadership and innovation in every media type.

The OMG CMO, with their marketing team is responsible for the marketing strategy and its effectiveness and the implementation delivery of each brand in quarterly cadence (set to a calendar year). This role is a blend of strategic development and goal setting and leading the marketing team in high-volume delivery.

Key areas of focus for this role

  • Strategy: Setting a coordinated OMG portfolio marketing strategy for the 4 OMG brands
  • Growth: Supporting OMG brands to achieve their net new business targets each calendar year
  • Industry positioning: Position OMG brands, and people, as the leaders in their field through PR, thought leadership and events using content and delivery that is locally relevant but globally aligned
  • Internal Comms: to OMG employees through weekly engagement, content and events across the three offices and the individual agency brands

Key responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with all key stakeholders: Marketing team, EXCO, APAC and Global marketing leads.
  • Implement new marketing team structure
  • Work with the marketing team leadership to set the marketing strategy, with each of the 5 Brands leadership teams, building on current strategies and operating cadence.
  • Identify longer term strategic marketing drivers creating a strategic marketing calendar.
  • Engage with new business pitch consultants, industry trade press and major media partners trade marketing departments to build sustained momentum as the leading agency brand in Australia.
  • Review, restructure OMG social media for a consistent strategy: Content, Competitor tracking, Growth opportunities.

The Ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience within brand marketing and experience within our industry, being able to utilise their network and contacts within the industry
  • Ability to understand the complexities of group portfolio brand management (with multiple brands competing in a competitive landscape) so clear, timely decisions are made to benefits OMG overall vs just individual brand requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, being able to navigate the positioning for both group and the individual brands with an ability to debate, justify prioritisation and clearly communicate while adapting global directives best practice when appropriate
  • Ability to build team that blends high volume of delivery with a growth strategy maximising net new business
  • Excellent communication skills a ability to articulate and manage communication in a clear, effective way.
