Chief Medical Officer - Leadership / Operations

The Role:

The role of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) encompasses serving as the foremost medical subject matter expert, offering strategic clinical leadership, and upholding exceptional patient care standards.

The CMO will develop and implement medical governance frameworks, mentor practitioners, and collaborate with the executive team to drive organisational growth and success. This role involves maintaining clinical proficiency, optimising operational processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Responsibilities:

Act as the primary Medical Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering expert counsel to the CEO and other senior leaders.

Develop, implement, and maintain medical governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.

Provide mentorship and expert guidance to practitioners within the organisation, fostering a culture of continual learning and professional growth.

Conduct assessments and treatment sessions as necessary, upholding clinical proficiency and remaining engaged in patient care.

Collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to streamline processes and workflows, ensuring the efficient delivery of medical services.

Lead and participate in cross-functional teams and committees dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and organisational effectiveness.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the healthcare sector, offering proactive strategies to address them.

Represent the organisation in professional forums, conferences, and industry associations, cultivating relationships and bolstering the organisation's reputation as a healthcare leader.

Collaborate with fellow executive team members to develop and implement strategic initiatives driving organizational growth and success.

Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continual improvement across the medical department and throughout the organisation.

Ensure that medical practices and initiatives align with the organisation's mission, vision, and values, promoting a patient-centered approach to care delivery.

Establish inpatient clinics nationwide to broaden access to medical services.

Support practitioner recruitment efforts, attracting and retaining top clinical talent.

Demonstrate personal adaptability and a proactive approach to challenges, embodying a "day one" mindset.

Requirements

Registered Psychiatrist - Senior level expertise

Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

Extensive experience with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).

Proven track record in transforming the concept of an in-patient clinic into a functional reality. This entails proficiency in clinical governance, establishing operational processes, defining necessary roles, managing insurances, and overseeing overall clinic operation

Pay: $280,000.00 – $350,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
