The QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute seeks a collegiate and innovative executive to take a leading role in supporting the Institute in the achievement of its vision, mission, goals and objectives through ensuring the strategic development and delivery of effective, efficient and contemporary information and technology services.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and with three direct reports, the CIO will lead a team of around 20 in the management, development and implementation of the Institute’s information and technology strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Leading and managing the planning and implementation of large-scale information and technology transformation with a strategic, client oriented and value-for-money, focus, the CIO will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure contemporary infrastructure that meets business and research needs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a significant track record in leading and managing change in information and technology in a large and complex organisation. Experienced in areas including cyber security, data protection and incident management, in addition to leading tender processes, you will bring strong financial and resource management capabilities. Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills will be required, with the ability to consult, collaborate and provide expert guidance to meet diverse stakeholder needs, offering a customer service focus. As a leader, you will inspire a highly motivated and committed team, taking them on a transformation journey.
A combination of relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive industry experience is required.
