Leadership role with corporate commercial sporting club. Strategy and implementation of Marketing, Partnerships, and Sponsorships to grow commercial revenue streams
This CRO position is responsible for the commercial success of a Sporting Club on the Northern Beaches. It is imperative that the successful applicant loves Sport. The role oversees all the revenue streams, which compromise ticketing, membership, merchandising, as well as setting the strategy for attracting sponsors and partnerships.
Essential to the success of the organisation is the leadership within this position for the commercial revenue streams. The person who takes on the CRO role must have a charismatic personality to be able to build business relations and ensure that the partners and key stakeholders are engaged, and opportunities are identified and developed. Sponsors must see ROI – so getting leverage for the businesses involved - is paramount.
As part of the Sporting family, you will need to attend home games and some away games where your presence is required- you will become the face of the commercial side of the business, liaise with the finance and operations team, and have three direct reports. Key relationships will include the Head of the Foundation, and the Hospitality Head- these overlapping areas ensure that each continues to be profitable, and opportunities are maximized.
Digital Asset are constantly being monetized and any touch points with members such as the Retail Merchandising area, are part of your commercial mandate.
Measures of success will include growth of the corporate revenue for the club and retention and development of key partners.
You will need high energy levels, an eye for detail, a visionary approach, and a love of sport. Combine that with an ability to engage with all parties, both internal and external, and proven expertise in leading a team and managing growth.
