Job Description

As the Chief Security Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a ‘secure by design’ process, ensuring that systems meet security standards required for accreditation and certification. This role involves leading a team of security professionals in the development and implementation of robust Security Architectures. You will ensure that all security requirements are met and integrated throughout the system lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment and operational use. Your expertise will be critical in achieving compliance with relevant security frameworks and regulations, working within the Australian Defence Government critical systems.

Required experience:

  • Developing and lead a team of Security Architects to manage and integrate complex security models.
  • Leading strategic design decisions that influence the security posture of large-scale projects.
  • Developing bespoke security patterns tailored to the unique needs of mission-critical systems.
  • Developing strategies and frameworks to manage security requirements from inception through to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Leading teams to achieve certification and accreditation for large-scale systems. Guide the Security Architecture to align with regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Actively engage in the cybersecurity community by attending industry events and building a network of peers. Integrate insights from industry best practices into strategic leadership.

Desirable experience:

  • Extensive experience within the Australian Government, specifically within the Defence environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards in this sector.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a team, managing and integrating complex security models tailored to the unique requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience actively engaging in the cybersecurity community and integrating best practices into strategic leadership.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor degree or higher in system engineering, computer science or a related discipline, together with substantial relevant professional experience and specialised training will be highly regarded.
  • Possession of SANS or other industry-standard architecture certifications, with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • CISSP,CISM, CISA ,CRISC and similar industry qualifications
  • A current NV1 clearance will be required (NV2 Desirable).
