The role:
The role of Child and Family Counsellor sits within a paediatric clinical team which consists of psychologists, Social Workers, counsellors and art therapists. This role is clinic based, with no outreach work required. A welcoming and well resourced setting will support you in building relationships with your clients.
You will provide short to medium term counselling for children and their families with a range of issues. This role supports clients to identify goals, and then develop interventions and therapeutic plans. You will also work with the MDT to delivery group programs.
Your experience and qualifications:
You will have demonstrated experience in the provision of counselling to children and their families, as well as experience conducting assesments and intervention. This role will see you work with vulnerable members of the community, and some complex caseloads.
You will have excellent time management and prioritisation skills to succeed in this role, as well as being a team player who can work as part of a multi disciplinary team.
- Relevant qualification in Counselling, Social work or psychology
- Registration with AHPRA, ACA, PACFA, AASW
- WWCC or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with young people aged 4-12 highly beneficial
