We now have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Child and Family Practitioner - Family Violence Focus to join our team. This position is based at our Shepparton office.
How You’ll Make a Difference
Child and Family services work with families where there are children up to the age of 18, supporting families with the wellbeing and development of children. We utilise a strength-based approach in supporting families to achieve their goals and work in alignment with the best interest’s framework.
This role will predominantly engage with families where Family Violence is the primary presenting issue in the Child and Family context. The successful applicant will work with both historical Family Violence, with a focus on recovery and therapeutic strategies and current Family Violence, with a focus on risk and safety planning.

What You'll Bring to the Team
- Suitable tertiary qualifications and experience in social welfare practice and a strong understanding of evidence-based practice in working within Family Violence.
- An understanding of the MARAM and information sharing schemes, FVISS and CISS.
- Knowledge of the Safe and Together framework is preferred.
- An understanding of the issues related to families, children and adolescents in the areas of family functioning, parent/child relationships and Child and adolescent development.
- Strong knowledge of the local Family Violence service sector to support referrals and collaborative practice.
- Strong engagement and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Willingness to obtain a valid Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencing employment with us. If you have spent over 12 months overseas in the last 10 years, you will also be required to undergo an International Police Check or present evidence of a satisfactory check.
- Valid Victorian Driver Licence.
- Minimum 2 doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine.
