Investing In Our Youth is a not for profit, community-based organisation that promotes the healthy development of children, young people and families in the South West region of Western Australia. We achieve this by working with other community service organisations, the business sector, government and the wider community to generate ideas and facilitate projects, services and community plans that will foster the development of children, young people and families in the South West.
About the Child & Parent Centre - Collie Valley
The Child and Parent Centre - Collie Valley offers a variety of programs and services for families and children in the community. The Centre supports families with young children by providing access to early learning and other support programs.
The Support Officer is responsible for supporting the Coordinator in the smooth running of the Child and Parent Centre. They will assist families to enhance their skills and capacity to care for their children by linking families to supports, workshops and events.
The role can be from 20 hours to 37.5 hours per week worked during the Centre opening hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a calm, cheerful and friendly manner.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in data entry, record keeping and general administration duties.
- High level computer skills.
- Highly developed organisational skills and ability to work independently without direction.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team and contribute to the achievement of shared aims and objectives.
- Experience managing social media platforms.
- Knowledge and practical application of workplace health and safety.
- Certificate IV in Community Services or similar.
- Current “C” class Driver’s License.
- Hold or be able to apply for a valid Working With Children Check and
- National Police Check prior to commencing.
- Preferable to hold current Senior First Aid certificate.
