We Care NSW is a provider of specialist Aboriginal disability and Out Home Care services. We are a growing Not for Profit organisation that prides itself on offering quality support services to children, young people and vulnerable adults. We offer range of services including psychology, speech pathology, disability support for people with psych-social challenges and out of home care services for children and young people. Our service delivery covers children, young people and adults in the Hunter, Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Sydney and Western regions.

About the role
In this role you will be responsible for managing and leading the Child Protection, incident response and Safety management teams across We Care NSW’s out of home care services. This includes safety and risk management planning, incident response and review, staff support and guidance and KPI reporting on areas for continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for embedding best practice and positive behaviour support across the organisation and ensuring all governance, contractual and legislative requirements are met.
Your previous experience in case management and/or safety/risk management planning and your genuine commitment to supporting the safety and well-being of children and young people will serve you well in this role.
As this role is responsible for programs located across NSW you will be required to travel and work from a range of locations.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, community services, education, health, early childhood, criminology, policing or similar.
- Significant experience in out of home care, Child Protection services, psychology or allied health services.
- Demonstrated capacity in writing and implementing safety, risk management and service improvement plans
- Experience in a case management or management role in the community services / allied health sector or similar.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation pertaining to children’s services, the Permanency Support program’s aims and principles and OCG Standards for Permanent Care.
- Highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skill and capacity in managing and leading teams
- Demonstrated experience in incident response management
- Registration with the NDIA as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner would be highly regarded.
