Awake Shifts - Children and Youth Support Workers

Due to expansion in our program, this is an exciting opportunity for Children and Youth Support Workers to work with young people under the age of 18 in Glenhaven’s residential care program called Safe Haven. In Safe Haven we provide trauma informed and therapeutic care to Children and Youth in out of home care in the Northwest region. Applicants
In Safe Haven we are looking for people that have a caring heart to provide consistent support, empathy and nurture whilst helping Children and Youth.
Shift times are from 10.30pm to 6.30am Monday to Sunday and are Active Awake shifts.
The hourly rate is $36.00 per hour + casual loading + penalty rates.
Children and Youth Support Workers – Are you?
- Available to work across a 24/7 roster including Awake shifts, sleep overs and weekends.
- Knowledge, experience or willingness to learn in providing therapeutic trauma informed care to Children and young people that have experienced complex trauma.
- Resilient, passionate and a team player.
- Willing to navigate complex trauma responses and behaviours.
- A good communicator.
- Patient and extremely supportive.
- Have good computer-based skills.
- Hold a minimum of Certificate 3 in Community Services / or a similar qualification / or are prepared to work towards such a qualification.
- Hold a current unrestricted Australian driver's licence (must have at least Tasmanian P2 licence).
- NDIS-endorsed Working with Vulnerable People card is essential.
- A current First Aid Certificate is desirable.
- A current (less than 12 months old) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is essential.
- Due to the inherent requirements of the advertised role, you are encouraged to ensure at all times whilst employed, you are vaccinated against the following: (a) COVID-19 (b) any other pandemic that is recommended under the National Health Management Strategy.
