This is a part-time fixed term contract until December 2024 approx. 14 hours per week – Thursday’s and Friday’s – located in Cabramatta NSW.
About the opportunity
Uniting is seeking an experienced Children’s Worker to join our team in Cabramatta NSW. This position is supporting a school readiness playgroup and will work with families to support children’s transition into formal learning. As a Children's Worker for our Supported Playgroup - School Readiness Program, you'll collaborate with our dedicated team at the Cabramatta Multicultural Family Centre. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating developmentally appropriate activities for children and families.
- Facilitating engaging group sessions and assisting with setup and cleanup.
- Supporting children's transition to formal schooling.
- Conducting child assessments and referrals.
- Collaborating with parents and caregivers.
Your Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience working with young children.
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse groups.
- Organisational skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Driver's license and reliability.
- Current NSW WWCC
