About the Opportunity
We have an exciting newly created opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join the Gregory Mine Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP).
Duties will include but not be limited to the following:
- Ensuring safe workplace is maintained with CHPP compliant to site Safety and Health Management system and CMSHR and CMSHA. This includes ensuring statutory inspections and reports are completed and identified non-conformances are addressed.
- Leading CHPP maintenance team to deliver to plan; include the provision of labour and equipment resources.
- Ensuring development of maintenance plans and tactics align with CHPP overall plan.
- Tracking compliance to maintenance plan and key performance indicators including developing corrective actions to address deviations.
- Ensuring maintenance activities that impact on coal quality and coal recovery are prioritised.
- Driving a continuous improvement focus and outcomes for the CHPP.
- Adhering to CHPP budget plans and Approval of Expenditure.
- Contractor management of CHPP contracts and contractors.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to assist Gregory CHPP and broader Sojitz Gregory Mine to deliver on its business objectives.
As a successful candidate, you will be working within the dedicated CHPP team, reporting to a well-respected and recognised Manager in the industry. As the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent, a core focus of your role is responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating the CHPP maintenance-related activities to ensure the department meets its key performance deliverables including safety, costs, production plan, optimisation of coal recovery, and product quality.
The successful candidates will display the following skills, experience, attributes and qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications.
- 5-10 years’ experience in CHPP operating and/or maintenance, minimum of 4 years working at a Supervisor level or higher.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team to deliver against targets.
- Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in executing operational/maintenance plans and exposure to development of operational/maintenance plans that line with business goals.
- Providing coaching and mentoring of CHPP personnel.
- Subject matter expert for Coal Processing-related matters.
- Ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proficient in MS Office.
