SENIOR IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN

Starting salary range $68,521 to $72,955 per annum depending on experience plus allowances

A vacancy currently exists for a permanent full time Senior Irrigation Technician to join our Foreshores/CBD team. About The Role: In this autonomous role you will undertake regular inspections and testing to monitor the performance and condition of the City’s irrigation systems and associated equipment, utilising our system diagnostic software. You will investigate any issues and undertake repairs. You will also perform regular preventative maintenance in accordance with our maintenance schedule. In addition you will work with our wider Irrigation team and contractors to undertake upgrades and improvements of irrigation systems, with a primary focus on our high profile Foreshores and CBD areas, but also working across the region as required.
About You: We are looking for applicants who have the following:
- Extensive knowledge of and experience working in a commercial irrigation role performing irrigation maintenance and installation, including experience with bores and pumps;
- Extensive experience with central control irrigations systems;
- Well-developed testing, problem diagnostic and problem solving skills;
- Certificate III/IV in Irrigation, or willingness to undertake this study with support from the City;
- Proven ability to effectively work autonomously and as part of a team, upholding the City’s Values and Behaviours.
Applicants must also have a a current C class driver’s licence, a Construction Safety Awareness (White Card) and be able to provide a National Police Clearance no more than six months old.
A willingness to undertaken some overtime on weekends and be part of an after-hours on-call roster is also expected.
