Council is looking for a Civil Design Cadet to join their Technical Services Design team. You will complete a fully paid for Associate Degree of Engineering, and receive on the job mentoring from industry professionals and on the job experience.
This position is based in Dalby. Upon completion of studies, the Cadet will be eligible for permanent appointment to a related position within Council.
Reporting to the Civil Design Coordinator, you will be:
- Participating and learning how to perform minor civil surveys;
- Participating and learning how to design civil projects including, but not limited to, roads and drains;
- Participating and learning how to perform civil drafting of plans;
- Participating and learning how to estimate the cost of civil projects;
- Completing a minimum Associate Degree of Civil Engineering under WDRC's Study Assistance Policy.
About yourself
The successful applicant will have:
- An interest in Civil Design and drafting of plans;
- The ability to gain entry into an Associate Degree of Engineering (minimum) OR have already commenced this course at a Tertiary Institution;
- Good problem-solving ability; and
- Strong analytical and technical ability.
