- This is an office based role working in the design space
- Lead a team of engineers to undertake the design of a broad range of mining and infrastructure engineering design projects.
- Strong experience in ensuring engineering design outcomes meet client needs, legal requirements, quality and are fit for purpose.
- Develop strong project level client relationships.
- Support Management across WSP to ensure implementation of market and client strategies, creating high levels of client service and opportunity.
- Participate in development activities of staff to help them realise their potential, and the success of our people and business.
- Continue to develop technical standards and design processes
- Manage workloads for a team of civil engineers
- Exceptional experience in a consultancy environment in the area of civil mining infrastructure in a team leader or similar role.
- Bachelors degree Civil Engineering or relevant qualification;
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ);
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering to deliver a broad range of civil engineering projects, including earthworks design, road design, drainage infrastructure, site water management systems, levees, creek diversions and dams.
- Ability to build relationships and develop business; and
- Experience in managing the engineering scope of multiple projects varying complexity and size
- Proactive mindset and a self-starter
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant tertiary education (Geoscience, Engineering, Mining, Environment, Chemistry, Business or related)
- Certificate or similar accreditation in project management and delivery (e.g. Australian Institute of Project Managers)
- Proven industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in study management, preferably with experience in delivery of mine closure studies.
- Independent thinker able to challenge norms, develop new ideas and keen to progress environmentally sustainable engineering solutions.
- Established profile within industry associations e.g., active involvement in shaping the industry through committees, industry bodies, delivering papers etc.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work virtually and face-to-face within a team environment, including the motivation and development of others within your team.
