Avant Build is a privately-owned company specialising in the construction and development of new residential and commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, dual occupancy construction and renovations.
We need Civil Engineer to perform the following tasks and responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluating construction methodologies, materials, and quality standards, while interpreting and drafting specifications, drawings, plans, and construction procedures.
- Coordinating site labour and overseeing the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment. Developing detailed schedules for seamless coordination of site activities.
- Collecting soil and rock samples at various depths on sites, conducting tests to determine strength, compressibility, and other factors influencing soil and rock behaviour under structural loads. Determining safe soil loading limits.
- Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings to estimate overall project costs. Creating comprehensive cost plans and estimates to aid in budgetary control.
- Monitoring design changes, evaluating their impact on costs, and quantifying and negotiating alterations to designs.
- Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads to ensure stability and performance.
- Designing structures with a focus on preventing collapse, bending, twisting, or undesirable vibrations.
- Designing the physical components of the construction of Civil Engineering projects such as pipelines, gas and water supply schemes, sewerage systems, roads, and other structures.
Oversee and/or prepare shop drawings and estimations using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel and Estimation software
- Prepare and update project programming and report to the manager using MS Project, Microsoft office
- Check Client and Subcontractors' statements, claims, and variations, and maintain strong stakeholders relationship to ensure project alignment with expectations.
Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:
Education : Bachelor Degree in related field
Australian Experience : At least 5 + years of Australian Experience OR
Overseas Experience : At least 5+ years of Overseas Experience
Specialist : Civil Engineering
Work Rights : Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be preferred. Other applicants with full work rights can apply only if they meet the above criteria.
