Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of Civil Engineering experience on construction projects in Australia or overseas. The successful candidate will be capable of working autonomously and able to manage one or more projects concurrently.
Candidates must demonstrate an ability to plans, designs, organizes and oversees the construction activities from commencement to end of project. In addition, you must have the ability to prepare the project schedule and arrange all the resources for the project.
You will need to work as part of a team and delegate responsibilities to the support personnel and site staff.
Excellent communications skills are a must, and you will need to be able to communicate with customers at all levels. In addition, you will need to direct company personnel to carry out their assigned duties according to the project as planned or amendments as scheduled or necessary.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Collaborate with the Project Manager, to manage and co-ordinate the full life cycle of the projects from the tender phase, through to handover and Defect Liability Period.
Designing structures to ensure they meet safe load ratings and stresses according to the site, drawings and plans.
Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, drafting and interpreting specifications.
Reviewing drawings, plans and procedures.
Be responsible for the recording of financial management of projects, including
monitoring all project costs, issuing of variations and progress claims.
Ensure all required daily, weekly, and monthly reporting is accurate.
Managing time and progress including developing and monitor the head contract and program.
Organizing and directing site Labour, delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities ensuring all paperwork/electronic forms and tasks are carried out efficiently and timely.
Studying architectural drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimate product and tools to assist in budgetary control.
Ensure compliance with the Site Management Plans and OH&S safety requirements.
Monitor the site team and compared to all project specific requirements according to the project budget and schedule.
Assist in managing the site construction activities to achieve the most productive use of available materials and construction resources (internal and external) with the site staff and relevant stakeholders.
Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs with site staff and clients.

Skills and Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction industry
Must have Construction Induction / White Card
Strong Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
Leadership and conflict resolution skills
Attention to detail and big picture thinking and vision
