About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Civil Engineer (Water) to join our team on a full-time basis. As part of this role, you will support the delivery of Mining and Construction projects, providing input to the site teams and supporting the modelling effort associated with site water management.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Civil Engineer will work with the hydrologist and hydrogeologist modelling teams and will be responsible for the design and delivery of Water projects in compliance with the procedures, standards and guidelines of Valenza Engineering and our Clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the modelling team in undertaking hydrological assessments and hydraulic modelling.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys.
- Undertake water balance modelling for mine water management systems using GoldSim.
- Develop engineering solutions for a broad range of projects including water dams, levees, diversions, roads, water/sediment dams, etc. from concept through to detailed design.
- Contribute to engineering reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and cost estimates.
- Support project management and client management duties and contribute to report writing and presentation needs as projects require.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and work continually to develop business.
About you
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering with proven experience in technical management through all project delivery phases.
- Previous experience in the mining industry is required.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering or Related.
- EA Membership – Desirable, RPEQ – Desirable
- Ability to work with stakeholders and users to understand their requirements.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to travel within Australia and internationally to various field locations.
- Previous experience in environmental data management is preferable.
- Full legal working rights in Australia.
