F9 Project Services are an established and dynamic project controls firm, providing a wide range of expert, professional and strategic services to many major companies in the resources and construction sectors. 

F9 provides planning, scheduling, cost control, forensic planning, claims assistance and project management services to support its client’s requirements during any part of a project life cycle.

The Role:

F9 are seeking a full time Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team, Perth-based, DIDO and FIFO depending on your preferences.

Our office is in the heart of the South Perth peninsula precinct, you will be offered the opportunity to work with dynamic and experienced project controls professionals on prominent projects for our clients throughout Western Australia and beyond.  You will be required to provide professional drafting and design services to these clients.

In performing your duties, you will be able to call upon and be supported by the F9 team of resources and construction industry professionals. Our team come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, providing a diversity of experience and insight.

Duties:

·         Produce Detailed workshop drawings.

  • Scope requirements of projects on site and gather necessary information to generate design drawings.

·         Promptly ascertain the client’s drafting needs and project requirements.

  • Interpret & understand technical drawings.
  • Quoting & procurement of structural steel & various components from suppliers.
  • Arranging & Supervising of trades personnel. 
  • Completion & reconciliation of site-specific documentation including dockets, OH&S permits & materials listing. 
  • Efficiently communicate with workshop and project teams.

·         Contemporary resource-based planning principles to determine ideal construction methods, plans, and procedures.

·         Develop cost estimates, detailed cost plans, and estimates to facilitate cost control monitoring.

·         Manage variations to design to ensure value, and effects on cost and negotiate variations as necessary.

 

Personal Attributes, Qualification and Experience Required:

The successful candidate will be a confident and self-motivated individual who can work with a high degree of autonomy, whilst also maintaining a strong sense of personal responsibility and integrity in their work. Candidates ideally should be able to demonstrate the necessary skills through their previous drafting experience, including past project-based roles, and must have completed a Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

The following attributes are also highly desirable:

  • 2-5 years of drafting Experience, preferably within an Engineering Consultancy.
  • The confidence and ability to engage and present to clients at all levels.
  • A high level of skill and understanding of contemporary resource-based drafting & design principles, industry safety standards, and various types of construction delivery methodologies.
  • Willingness to learn and grow your capabilities within a team environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication.  
  • Have a high attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving skills.
