Due to business development, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participating in developing and modifying construction project plans, methods, maps, and designs under the supervision of civil engineers.
2. Monitoring construction projects and estimating material cost, ensuring compliance with design specifications and delivery of the projects on time and on budget.
3. Participating in surveying and mapping land, and using specialized equipment and software such as AutoCAD and other engineering software to collect and analyze data on soil, water, and other materials.
4. Preparing project planning schedules including identification of risks, issues and constraints and contingency plans.
5. Undertaking regular site visits, compile reports and ensure contractor records are maintained.
6. Conducting and promoting safe operation of construction plant and equipment as required.
7. Creating technical drawings, preparing reports, and documenting construction project details.
8. Conducting quality control and assurance tests on construction materials and soils.
9. Managing the financial side of projects including monitoring costs to ensure that projects can be completed within budget.
10. Maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure matters are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
11. Organizing the delivery of construction materials and equipment and establish detailed programs for the coordination of site activities and crews.
Skills and Experience
1) 2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role.
2) A strong knowledge of Civil Engineering.
3) Tertiary qualification.
4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to engage with clients and subcontractors.
5) Proven technical & customer service and problem-solving skills.
6) Able to work autonomously and set priorities.
7) Ability to work in a team environment.
