Catalpa is seeking Estimators to prepare and complete cost estimates for designated construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze specifications, plans and related technical data to determine time, cost and labor requirements for projects, tender bids and related commercial contracts.
- Sourcing and negotiating prices from suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Provide detailed First Principle estimates based on scopes of works provided by Clients.
- Assess project requirements and facilitate the estimating process.
- Ensure estimates are relevant to scopes of works, stakeholders' expectations and are cost effective.
- Assist in inputting and maintaining databases of actual costs/estimates, unit rates, suppliers and subcontractors, KPI and related data to ensure estimates and costings are based on best value prices, quality and delivery.
- Reviewing and assessing tenders, ensuring all tender documents are complete and correct.
- Developing a thorough understanding of each project and sourcing Subcontractors and Suppliers with a high level of capability and compliance as needed.
Role Requirements
- Previous experience within estimating for Civil, Concrete and Earth works.
- Proven ability to incorporate resource availability, productivity, procurement of materials and subcontractors into estimates.
- Accurately review contracts and tender documentation.
- Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Proven experience in estimating in the WA resources sector.
- Knowledge of technical standards in preparing estimates and project costings.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
