About the role:
As an Estimator with Delta Group you will be responsible for producing detailed estimates and cost budgets on a variety of civil works and/or demolition contracts for large scale commercial and industrial projects. You will lead our early engagement with potential clients and build strong relationships that lead to new business.
You will need to combine site experience with exceptional quantity surveying skills and have high attention to detail in financial and cost analysis along with ability to produce high quality winning bids.
To be successful in this position you must have the following experience and attributes:
- An interest in all things civil and demolition related! If you love the works that we do, that’s the best starting point
- Minimum 5 years experience in Construction Industry (Supervisors or Project Managers interested in moving to the pre-construction space are encouraged to apply)
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering will be highly regarded
- Must be confident in dealing face-to-face in writing and verbally with suppliers, subcontractors and prospective clients
- Demonstrated strong communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Project) to a high level
- Experience or knowledge of specialist software including primavera P6, ProContractor, and AutoCAD will be highly regarded
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, plan, and compile detailed estimations of large-scale Civil and/or Demolition projects located throughout Queensland for potential clients
- Prepare tender programs and construction methodologies to aid in presentations to clients and pricing of works.
- Provide innovative and best cost solutions for upcoming projects
- Effective and efficient management of key supplier/stakeholder relationships – including maintaining an up to date register of market rates and costs
- Ability to identify risk, and provide upper/lower cost bounds to inform the Senior Management Teams decision making process prior to significant tender submissions
- Source, negotiate and implement contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Provide input on commercial agreements including contract and scope review.
- Attend site visits and tender interviews with existing and prospective clients
- OHS Compliance.
