Civil/Hydraulic Technical Officer 

Fulltime – Hobart or ‘Work From Home’ Anywhere Nation Wide

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a in office or Remote Civil/Hydraulic Technical Officer (Designer/Modeller). As a Civil/Hydraulic Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the design, modelling and documentation of Civil and Hydraulic aspects of the project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, design, planning, construction, and project delivery. You will work closely with our Senior Civil Engineers and other team members to ensure seamless project delivery.

These projects benefit our State and nation through new and upgraded facilities.

Collectives existing client base has grown through recent opportunities in Tasmania in all sectors and we are seeking a like-minded individual to join our team to respond to our project requirements.

Collective has continuous work into the foreseeable future that now require the following key position:

  • An experienced Civil/Hydraulic Technical Officer to join our civil team.

Task & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Civil/Hydraulic Technical Officer who can:

  • Use CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Civil Site Design to prepare technical designs, drawings and models for civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings and models that meet their specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform modelling for layouts and designs and assist the Engineers with basic design computations and cost estimates.
  • Create surface models and drainage design to interface vertically with our structural and hydraulic team models to create a holistic representation of the built environment.
  • Produce planning documents for driveways, sewage systems, stormwater systems, sub-divisions and other infrastructure projects.
  • Update existing drawings and models as new information becomes available.
  • Write related technical documents such as bill of quantities and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian Standards, Codes, and Regulations.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • A diploma, certificate or degree in civil engineering, drafting technology or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a civil modeller/drafter using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering practices and principles.
  • Ability to analyse design sketches and specifications to create technical drawings and models.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
