Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintai at the South Australian border. We have an exciting role available for a Civil Maintenance Operator to join our growing team who are responsible for the efficient delivery of Civil Maintenance and construction within the local community. Whether you have trade qualifications, civil construction experience or are just looking to kick start your career - that's ok! More than anything we are looking for the right people to join the team.
About the role:
This ‘hands on’ role, will allow you to use your prior civil experience or develop your skills within the water industry whilst learning from team members with decades of experience within the Civil Maintenance field. You will be assisting your team to complete a range of safe construction and maintenance of civil assets across LMW’s irrigation, drainage, potable water and sewer systems.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:- Efficient and reliable construction and maintenance of Civil Maintenance assets including potable water, sewer, irrigation and drainage infrastructure
- Maintain tools, equipment, and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition
- Contribute to a safety-first culture
- Always represent LMW professionally
- Being flexible with availability and hours, overtime and out-of-hours work will be required, as will forming part of an on call roster

About you:You will be an engaged and enthusiastic person who is eager to learn within a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in this role, you will have the following or willingness to learn:
- Safety first approach to all works
- Experience in either civil or general construction is desirable but not essential
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team with a can-do attitude
- Current drivers’ licence
- Must have the right to work in Australia
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Victorian White Card
