The Role

An exciting opportunity awaits in our Melbourne team for a self-sufficient and motivated Civil/Structural Designer. As a Civil/Structural Designer, your role is pivotal in shaping industrial plant expansions and installations. You will harness appropriate technologies to create safe and efficient civil and structural solutions. Reporting to the Design Office Manager, you’ll collaborate with skilled designers to develop designs for various plant elements, including earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete foundations and structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Civil/Structural Design tasks across diverse projects.
• Develop and deliver key design documents, maintaining consistency with project requirements and standards.
• Design civil elements, including roads, drainage and earthworks models.
• Design structural elements, including steel structures, supports, building envelopes, concrete foundations, piles, stairs, platforms, and ladders.
• Review and analyse Fixed Plant Upgrades, providing valuable insights.
• Participate in the complete engineering process, from concept development to product manufacturing and commissioning.

Skills and Experience

• Qualification in Structural Design or similar.
• 6+ years of Multidisciplinary Engineering experience.
• Experience with 12D software essential
• Bentley Microstation and Prosteel Software experience highly regarded.
• Experience using point cloud data and 3D scanning.
• Strong civil and structural design experience.
• Practical knowledge of materials handling industry and Australian Standards.
• Experience across varied types of commodities within the resource sector from nickel through to iron ore.
• Good presentation and communication skills at all levels.
• Demonstrated understanding of industry safety and environmental standards.
