Claims Preparation Consultant

Our Claim Preparation business provides a range of specialist services primarily in pre and post loss business interruption and property Insurance claims. Our role is to ensure clients receive their full Insurance Policy claim entitlements. As well as Claim Preparation, our consulting services include economic loss quantification, forensic accounting and financial analysis services.

This role involves working closely with our team of Claims Preparers, Clients and Brokers.

To be considered, we are seeking someone who enjoys meeting people, has sound insurance and accounting knowledge and enjoys using their lateral thinking skills to solve problems and effectively manage claims, as well as discussing pre-loss risks.

In addition to possessing technical skills, you must enjoy dealing with new situations & people, liaising and meeting numbers of stakeholders, and giving professional advice.

In this role, you will be:

• Preparing, negotiating and settling Business Interruption and Material Damage claims from many & varied Insured events/causes for companies across all industries
• Analysing, collating and interpreting financial information provided in support of claims
• Determining risk management solutions through provision of pre-loss Business Interruption analysis
• Undertaking financial analysis for quantification of damages/losses
• Managing key stakeholders - Clients, Brokers and Loss Adjusters, as well as Insurance companies, lawyers and other experts

A bit about you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Demonstrated intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
• Good written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail, as you will regularly need to communicate on claims in both written & verbal form.
• Ability to work under pressure, across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong sense of professionalism and a willingness to learn.
• Tertiary & professional qualifications - Commerce, Accounting, Finance qualifications (preferred).
