About Us :

ABOUT US:

BeXD Create is a fast growing performing arts and production company that delivers engaging and educational workshops in drama, singing and dance to children, teens and adults across South-East Queensland.

Our youth curriculum focuses on not only helping students develop skills in acting, singing and movement, but also aims to build confidence, social skills and resilience. Our goal is for students to build their stage and screen skills and also feel more confident to raise their hand at school, help a friend in need or learn and grow from setbacks.

We work with people from all walks of life including neurodiverse students, students with disabilities and kids, teens and adults from all different backgrounds, cultures and skill levels. At BeXD Create, we celebrate that everyone is unique (including you!).

WHY WORK HERE?

We started BeXD Create coming out of soul-destroying careers in the corporate world. We strive to make working at BeXD Create the exact opposite of that.

We value open and honest communication above all else. We’re very flexible and will encourage you to pursue your other passions in addition to your teaching commitments, whether that’s auditioning for roles, going on tours, travelling or further education.

We ensure all classes have generous staff to student ratios so you can have the time and support to cover the content in a way that works for you. We create curriculums as a team that you can adapt to suit your skills and teaching style. We provide training and professional development opportunities to further your education as a creative and as a teacher.

About You :

  • First aid training preferred, but not essential

Position Summary :

As a Drama, Singing or Dance Class Instructor Assistant, you will inspire and mentor a diverse group of students from ages 0-18 during classes in drama, acting, singing, and dance. Your focus will be on promoting the wellbeing of all participants, helping students one-on-one, and building positive relationships with students and helping your lead teacher deliver exceptional and enriching educational programs. As an assistant teacher, you will rarely be leading the classes, but will be helping students individually with their technique, creative work and focus.

This role is a Level 2 position with an hourly rate of $30.61

Applicants must be over 16 years of age.

Key Requirements :

  • Experience and training in singing, drama, acting or dance is highly desirable
  • Teaching experience is not required for this role, but is preferred
  • Strong skills in communicating and collaborating with students and teachers
  • Passionate about helping your students build confidence and skills
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively with diverse groups of students, including those with neurodiverse needs or disabilities
  • Familiarity with relevant safety, risk management, and child protection policies, procedures, and legislation, including holding a current Blue Card if over 18

Job Responsibility :

  • Assist the lead teacher to deliver engaging and educational drama, acting, singing and/or dance classes
  • Assist your lead teacher to manage behaviour in the classroom
  • Assist your lead teacher by working one-on-one with students to help them keep up with the class content and directions
  • Help guide students who require extra support during class
  • The Assistant Instructor role will work predominantly with our younger students aged between 4 and 18. A passion for helping guide and mentor younger students is essential
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with your lead teacher and managers regarding students' progress, behavior, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
