Location: Solomon mine
- Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.
Reporting to: Senior Reliability Engineer
Autonomously manage the compliance for Classified Plant, conducting inspections, implementing auditing programs, and promoting safety culture, requiring relevant qualifications, experience, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage site Classified Plant compliance
- Communicate the requirements for Classified Plant compliance across the site
- Manage auditing program
- Reporting on Classified Plant compliance levels to management
- Conduct Classified Plant inspections
- Promoting a strong safety culture
- Approved Classified Plant Inspector - qualification
- Relevant Engineering or Technology qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Experience with inspections for EWP, cranes, pressure vessels, ropes and winches.
- Sound mechanical knowledge of fixed and mobile plant
- Ability to work autonomously with varying tasks, meet deadlines and achieve performance targets
- Ability to record and maintain accurate information in accordance with organisational procedures and protocols
- Knowledge of and ability to understand and interpret Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 and the Mines Safety Inspection Act 1994, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations 1996
- Experience with managing audit systems
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
