Plant Inspector

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager (Mining East), your role as a Plant Inspector is part of our Mackay inspections team – a team that is experiencing rapid growth. This role is key to upskilling our NDT Technicians through training and mentoring in inspection competencies. This role will be based in our Mackay office but will require travel to remote client sites in the Bowen Basin.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing in-service inspection of pressure equipment including boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping, storage tanks and associated equipment as per the applicable code and client requirements;
• Preparing inspection work scopes including any NDT required, review the equipment history and review all findings;
• Preparing reports for the inspections performed on such equipment to the applicable code and client requirements;
• Performing inspections and quality reviews as required by the applicable code and client requirements for pressure equipment including boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping, storage tanks and associated equipment;
• Completing training for NDT technicians to gain ALS Level 2 inspector competencies and approvals

Forming part of a skilled and high-performing on-site inspections team, you will have the support of a progressive and experienced management team and be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging work environments. The successful applicant will ideally have:

• AICIP (preferred) or API 510 & 570 Certification (minimum); API 653 (desirable)
• NDT Certification AINDT or PCN (UT/MT/PT) (required); Advanced NDT Certifications (desirable);
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards associated with the in-service inspection of pressure systems, plant and equipment;
• Working knowledge and experience of NDT and Specialist Inspection techniques as well as relevant industry experience with exposure to heavy industrial/process/mining plant
