Job description

The purpose of the Client Director is to lead the team and deliver brilliant work, best in class, integrated solutions and flawless execution deliver best in class solutions for clients.
The Client Director is a senior role at Initiative, requiring strong leadership, juggling multiple high-level projects at one time, and developing and negotiating multi-faceted partnerships. Directors must think strategically and work collaboratively with other disciplines and with client team leaders in Strategy, Communications Design and SBUs to deliver on client strategic goals and business objectives.
This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of the client and internal team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client

  • Ensure alignment with and delivery against client KPI's in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to and author client proposals, recommendations, and points of view
  • Manage all communications in a timely manner
  • Build exceptional relationships with client leads and clients partner agencies
  • Ensure the client has relevant knowledge of the Initiative proposition, Infinity process, product and systems, in turn managing the client to engage with Initiative in an effective manner (e.g. optimal briefing lead times, thorough briefs)
  • Ensures all client financial stewardship, reporting, budget management, authorisation and billing.
Internal
  • Participate in all client briefings, and articulate client needs and objectives to key internal stakeholders
  • Apply a client lens to all areas of Initiative product, ensuring solutions developed are business- appropriate and meet agreed-upon KPIs
  • Develop client engagement plans to deliver strong TRR results
  • Support the Group Director in leading key projects.
Commercial
  • Drive forward-looking planning costs, market projections and rationale
  • Support and facilitate all Initiative and Mediabrands new business, revenue and industry initiatives including organic growth opportunities
  • Manage client scope, seek opportunities for incremental fees
  • Create and deliver SOW proposals alongside SBUs for any out-of-scope work
  • Manage staff utilisation to ensure profitability and maintenance of scope boundaries
  • Track and manage team staffing and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with all Mediabrand agencies for maximum effectiveness and seamless integration into client business
  • Support Magna aggregate negotiations across all media channels.
Team Leadership
  • Accountable for the team's day-to-day responsibilities
  • Drive a positive and motivating work environment for the team
  • Manage team output and develop effective workflows ensuring quality delivery of work to the client
  • Promote an inclusive working environment where opinions, views and ideas can be shared
  • Lead the people processes for the team including conducting performance reviews, providing clear guidance on KPIs, approving leave and managing resources effectively
  • Apply fundamental Manager Blueprint best practice
  • Ensure team members master the skills, tools and organisation savvy required for success and advancement
  • Develop staff through performance management and consistent feedback, while helping them work toward their professional goals
  • Lead the recruitment process for vacant roles in team.
Agency Leadership
  • Lead and promote agency and culture initiatives
  • Contribute to Investment Partnership initiatives and projects as part of the senior team, sharing information and resources across markets to create efficiencies and minimum standards for Investment Partnerships workflow output
  • Participate in new business development and presentations
  • Prepares RFP responses
  • Develops costs for pricing exercises.

Qualifications, Skills and Capability
  • 8+ years' experience in Marketing, Advertising, Media or relevant experience
  • 4+ years' experience in a leadership role
  • Ability to drive projects from conception to completion
  • In-depth understanding of Australian media marketplace
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, conscientious, ability to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of client business and broader market
  • Competent user across all core investment media systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Salary from $140,000-$145,000 inclusive of superannuation.
