We are establishing an appointment pool for vacancies that arise until 19 January 2025. We may offer permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

About the CollegeNorth Metropolitan TAFE is the established State Government provider of vocational education and training for the northern Perth region. Our mission is to nurture participation, productivity and aspirations for our learners, our industry and our community.

About the roleThe Jobs and Skills Centre is a service offering free career, training and employment assistance as well as partnerships with industry. The Centre is a one-stop-shop for anyone looking to improve their skills and job prospects – including students, jobseekers and career changers. It will provide a culturally responsive service to Aboriginal people. The Jobs and Skills Centre will also engage with the local community and industry to help build local prosperity.

The Client Engagement Officer is responsible for delivering high quality career development services to clients and groups of clients of all ages.

The Client Engagement Officer provides information on training and further education options to assist clients meet their career goals. The Officer also assists clients with their job search skills and assists to connect clients to work experience, employment and/or apprenticeship/traineeship opportunities.

We would prefer that applicants are willing to work towards a Certificate IV in Career Development or equivalent.

Other Conditions and EligibilityDuring the life of the pool, candidates found suitable through this process may be offered appointment to similar & subsequent vacancies within the College, within other TAFE Colleges or across WA Government (subject to candidate permission being granted).
Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.

To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
