About us:

Orana is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing essential services to individuals with disabilities across South Australia. We offer a range of programs including accommodation, supported employment, capacity building, and respite services, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our clients.

Position purpose:

Orana is seeking a passionate and dedicated Client Services Coordinator to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to enhance the quality of client development through a holistic, person-centred approach. The Client Services Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating person-centred goal setting meetings, advocacy, positive behaviour management strategies, liaison with key stakeholders, and the development and facilitation of flexible, individualised programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • As the Client Services Coordinator, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Facilitating person-centred support and vocational plans, including goal setting for Orana clients in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating wage assessments for clients within Orana’s supported employment business services.
  • Complete NDIS Progress Reports and other necessary documentation prior to NDIS plan reviews.
  • Connecting clients with relevant resources as needed.
  • Advise and train business services supervisors on best practices for documentation and behaviour support strategies.
  • Documenting client interactions and records of support in Orana’s electronic case management system.
  • Liaising with the Intake Coordinator regarding external referrals for supported employment and service provision commencement.
  • Collaborating professionally with team members and other internal stakeholders.
  • Adapt working and communication skills when working with people with different capacity.
  • Develop and present mandatory training programs to supported employees both metro and regional in consultation with site supervisors.
  • Completing the exit and internal transfer processes for supported employees as required, including transitions to Community Options programs and/or retirement.
  • Contributing to the development of capacity building programs and resources.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement and development initiatives within the Business Services team.
  • Developing Easy English and pictorial resources.
  • Performing other duties as directed.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education or equivalent Bachelor degree in allied health (essential).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desirable).
  • Experience in goal planning.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating training programs for people with disabilities.
  • Framework with the NDIS framework is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in producing professional documents tailored to specific audiences.
  • Commitment to applying person-centred practices.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software applications.
  • Accurate and timely records management skills.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining professional networks.

Authority and Accountability:

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Business Services, you will have a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, equal employment opportunity laws, National Standards for Disability Services, and compliance with Orana’s policies and procedures. 

Workplace Health, Safety, and Welfare:

You will ensure compliance with statutory and organizational health and safety requirements, use provided equipment for safety, follow instructions on health and safety, report incidents promptly, and participate in workplace health and safety activities.

Performance standards:

  • Respond to referrals within 24 hours
  • Complete 100% of vocational and/or support plans annually within designated areas.
  • Sign off 100% of wage assessments within 48 hours of completion.
  • Maintain100% compliance with recording and reporting requirements.
  • Fulfil requests from Executive Manager, Business Services within specified timeframes.
  • Complete progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Average 5 hours per week mandatory training presentations to supported employees.
  • Adhere to Orana policies and procedures without breaches.
  • Timely management and escalation of client, family, or stakeholder complaints within 2 business days.
