About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Climate Transition Manager to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting the development of Coles' climate strategy and decarbonisation strategy, including development of key decarbonisation initiatives, emissions modelling to inform performance reporting, progress against targets and expected future outcomes. Working with a number of key stakeholders across our business you will;
- Manage the development and coordination of emissions reduction strategies and business models that mitigate risk and generate benefit for Coles
- Leverage strategic and innovative thinking to drive commercially viable solutions that create value for Coles
- Manage the deployment of strategic projects, including management of critical path and project interdependencies
- Deliver the operating and governance models required to operationalise climate initiatives
- Responsible for tracking and measuring emissions and reporting on emissions targets
We are looking for someone with a combination of a strong passion for sustainability with technical experience in project management. This role will have an impact of future sustainability and will require a natural curiosity for ways to improve in areas of sustainability. You will also have;
- experience in project management or retail strategy role focused on climate and sustainability
- Relevant Tertiary Degree - Sustainability/Business/Commerce/Engineering or similar
- Ability to lead the creation and implementation of cross functional projects within a fast-paced culture of change
- Strategic, commercially driven mindset with experience applying this to interpret industry dynamics in a competitive retail landscape
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver Executive-level presentations and engage externally with a clear and concise story
- Demonstrated history of identifying commercially feasible and innovative solutions to sustainability problems
