In the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Procurement team, we aim to manage our supply base effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of our stakeholders. We do this by leading our procurement activities based on category management principles and ensuring alignment to our vision, mission, strategic goals and values. The Category Managers represent the procurement function as a helpful, innovative and commercially astute team of professionals.
Key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:
- Review of spend categories, spend analytics, and contract portfolios to identify sourcing opportunities complete with thorough risk assessments
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clinical stakeholders across the organisation
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Product Advisor (CPA) within Procurement on all clinical consumable matters, including but not restricted to; introduction of new consumables, changes to supply, alternative products for review and analysis.
- Generate strategic initiatives through robust analysis and development of sourcing strategies that support sound business cases
- Monitor and evaluate market dynamics and competitive conditions and use outcomes to review spend categories with stakeholder groups and set appropriate sourcing strategies
- Work collaboratively with Heath Share Victoria (HSV) to deliver value for money and great commercial outcomes for both the Victorian Health Service Sector and RMH
- Capture all the negotiated value from RMH Procurement and HSV by monitoring and managing contract compliance
- Remain commercially focussed on outcomes, applying compliant and efficient processes and always without impacting on patient care
- Effectively communicate all strategies, plans, and change management to suppliers, stakeholders, management, and team members
- Assisting with preparation of Annual Procurement Activity Planning (PAP) including identification of Procurement opportunities
- Leading and assisting contract negotiations, drafting and execution process
