Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Clinical Coding Manager to manage all functions of Clinical Coding in Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Health Information Services (HIS).

What you'll be doing
The Clinical Coding Manager will oversee the timely and efficient management of the Clinical Coding service of NSLHD HIS. This includes management of ongoing Clinical Coding, documentation, and data quality audit programs to improve coding and casemix performance and ensure compliances with NSW Health coding and quality indicators.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management, equivalent Clinical Coding experience and extensive experience in clinical classification or combination of experience and qualifications.
  • Experience in leading a Clinical Coding team, including mentoring and motivating staff and promoting a positive and collaborative culture.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, particularly demonstrated in preparing complex reports, presentations, and consulting and negotiating with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
