About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care in the Health Information Services Dept. This role will be responsible to ensure an efficient and effective medical records service is provided for Researchers, as well as undertaking Clinical Coding and related activities. They will also be involved with improving and optimising the quality of coded data by educating clinical coders, clinicians and other stakeholders.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Coding Educator and Research Manager who possesses a passion for person centered care. We welcome applications from people who are experienced in Clinical Coding and or Clinical Documentation Improvement.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Completion of Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) Clinical Coding course; Associate Diploma or Bachelor of Applied Science, Medical Record Administration or Health Information Management; or similar relevant tertiary qualification.
3. A sound understanding of health information systems including paper based and electronic records and understanding of patient information and administration systems.
4. Clinical coding experience at tertiary level using ICD10AM and ACHI
5. Sound knowledge of clinical coding and clinical coding audit processes
6. Sound understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG), 3M Codefinder, TurboCoder and PICQ.
7. Well-developed interpersonal, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
8. Ability to work autonomously and to strict deadlines but to also contribute effectively as a team member.
