Responsibilities:
- Provide medical governance, leadership, and coordination for Anaesthesia and Pain Management Services.
- Lead a team of specialists, registrars, and junior medical officers, supporting their education and training.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to support operational, governance, and strategic direction of the Surgical Division.
- Ensure delivery of services to the highest professional standards, incorporating contemporary practices and research.
- Manage department budget, resources, and service provision effectively and efficiently.
- Foster partnerships with internal and external service providers to enhance local service networks.
- Oversee registrar training program
- Supervise recruitment, professional development, and performance management of medical staff.
- Participate in on-call roster.

Servicing over 11,000 people in what is a public/private facility. Currently a level 4 hospital providing acute and sub-acute services. The facility operates a 24hr Emergency Department, inpatient services, general medicine, surgery, maternity, critical care and mental health.

Requirements
- Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (RANZCA) or an equivalent higher specialist qualification.
- Be available for weekend and after-hours work
