The Role
MQ Health are seeking an exceptional Clinical leader to take on the role of Clinical Director of General and Perioperative Medicine. This role is being established to oversee the physician workforce in the Pre-Admission Clinic and inpatient General Medicine service, coordinating recruitment and rostering.
The successful clinician will also lead, participate in and facilitate the conduct of research, teaching, and evidence-based practice within the Discipline, participating in M&Ms and quality assessment, and monitoring financial performance.
Key accountabilities (but not limited to):
Facilitate patient admissions from WiSE and manage the general physician workforce.
Participate in M&Ms and engage in ongoing quality and improvement activities.
Attend appropriate Discipline and MQ Health meetings as required including any committees to which you are formally appointed.
Provide clinical leadership, supervise and mentor registrars and other Doctors in Training to standards required by the RACP or other relevant training authority.
Participate in educational activities within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, including interdisciplinary education and training.
Participate in review, development and implementation of hospital clinical guidelines, protocols and quality improvement initiatives including peer review, clinical practice, medications, falls, M&M, audit etc.
Complete and provide evidence of Continuing Education and Development and meet registration standard of AHPRA

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your cv and a 1-2 page cover letter:
MBBS or equivalent qualification and registration as a medical practitioner in NSW
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Demonstrate high level interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels and the capacity to use electronic medical records effectively.
Demonstrated experience in General Medicine and ability to provide medical oversight for complex patients within the plans of the admitting consultant.
High level skills in clinical care, supervision, mentoring, and teaching.
Demonstrated skills and commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety and risk management, continuous quality improvement, and innovation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Commitment to uphold and be a steward of the Mission, Vision, and Values of MQ Health.
Commitment to the effective utilisation of resources, and participation in activities beyond direct patient care.
