The role:
The overall direction of the Department of Women’s and Children’s Services with responsibility for providing effective clinical, financial, teaching and research services.
Effective provision of evidence based, efficient inpatient and outpatient clinical care to patients of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH).
The team:
The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is a level 5 tertiary Hospital within the Tasmanian Role Delineation Framework. The LGH has 349 inpatient beds, 117.7 presentations to the Emergency Department daily, 5 births daily.
There are many specialty services including general medicine, rehabilitation, neurology and acute stroke management, surgery and women's and Children's services.
The Department of Women’s and Children’s Services includes the children’s ward, neonatal nursery, birthing and obstetric unit and outpatient services. The Department has a collaborative team comprised of the Clinical Director, Nursing Director, Clinical Leads, Nurse Unit Managers and professional clinical and support staff.

Details of Appointment
Fixed Term, Part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2028
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary:
Specialist Medical Practitioners
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $301,349 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging pro rata
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 -$301,349 per annum pro rata is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum
Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum,
Access to salary packaging
On call is a requirement of the role, and an allowance will be paid in addition to base salary.
Superannuation of 11%
Relocation package and accommodation allowance available
May be entitled to participate in the Private Patient Scheme.
