Clinical Director

CLINICAL DIRECTOR – 72 hours per fortnight

Meercroft Care Inc is a stand-alone 140  bed Residential aged care facility in Devonport Tasmania, employing 250 staff . We are a Not-for-profit, Public Benevolent Institution. Which is located in the picturesque Bluff Preccinct opposite the Bluff Beach, with walking pathways, cafes, childrens’ playground and BBQ Areas. The facility is governed by a Board of Governance in collaboration with the position of Clinical Director and Commercial Operations Manager who report and account to the Board of Governance for all operational, financial, HR, Risk Management  and strategic concerns.  There is autonomy in the role and salary packaging is available.

About this position

1. The position of Clinical Director is responsible In accordance with Meercroft Care Inc. policies and Residential Aged Care  Quality Standards, the Clinical Director is responsible for the leadership and overall co-ordination of the varied activities of the Nursing and Clinical Care within the Facility and the development and maintenance of the highest possible standard of nursing care to all residents in the Facility.  He/She is accountable for this to be accomplished in a professional, efficient and effective manner.

1. Knowledge of contemporary nursing theories, principles and their application.

1. Knowledge of health / nursing administration theories, principles and their application.

1. Proven ability to show compassion and creative thoughtfulness towards the older/disabled person.

1. A natural enjoyment when working and dealing with the elderly, and proven interpersonal skills. 

1. Ability to motivate staff and initiate strategies for change.

1. Detailed knowledge of organisational structure, philosophy and objectives of Meercroft Care Inc.

1. Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement and it’s research methodologies.

1. Skill in effective delegation of authority.

                Essential

1. Current registration with  AHPRA.

1. Current practicing certificate.

1. Satisfactory Criminal History Check

1. Working with Vulnerable Persons Card 

1. Minimum of 5 years post-registration Aged Care nursing experience.

1. Knowledge of NDIS Standards

Desirable

Hold or be working towards a relevant Tertiary qualification
