About The Role

As the Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS), you will ensure the highest standards of quality documentation in healthcare is upheld and best practice principles are maintained for quality and safety.

You will be an essential part of the CDS team at Peninsula Private.  The CDS work autonomously by reviewing medical records daily for clinical complexity by utilising their acute clinical knowledge.

The successful candidate will liaise with clinical stakeholders to endure complete and accurate documentation reflects the complexity of care and treatment provided. 

Your Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will be able to report on all outcomes in a standardised, efficient, and timely manner.

You will be a self-motivated, ambitious individual and a positive team member. A passion for quality improvement and promoting culture change desirable. You will also have the following:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute clinical setting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good clinician relationships
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Knowledge of the DRG classification system and private healthcare funding models desirable

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
