About the Role
At the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS), the Clinical Education Strategy and Risk (CESAR) Project Officer will support the Faculty’s strategic objectives by working closely with the Academic Director and Faculty leaders to manage risk in Clinical Education programs. Reporting to the Manager, Experiential Learning, this role involves maintaining frameworks and protocols to anticipate and respond to risks in Clinical Education, mitigating risks in program sustainability, student learning, safety, and the reputation of the Faculty.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Academic Director CESAR in undertaking the Faculty’s Clinical Education Strategy and Risk workplan and strategic objectives.
  • Maintaining and regularly reporting on project timelines and performance against scheduled milestones to Faculty Executive and stakeholders as required.
  • Maintaining tools for the identification and management of risks to the Faculty related to Clinical Education activities.
  • Liaising with relevant staff across the University - including Legal and Risk, Business Services, Student and Scholarly Services, Chancellery Academic and staff in other divisions.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the risk management lifecycle with the ability to strategise innovative solutions to reduce risks. They will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management and the ability to exercise sound judgment, combined with excellent written and oral communication skills tailored to diverse audiences. They will have proven project management skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands, and handle sensitive information with discretion, all while focusing on student outcomes and embodying the Faculty’s values of respect, collaboration, compassion, integrity, and accountability.

You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • Proven project management skills, with a strong track record in communicating progress, managing expectations, strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to research and apply critical-thinking techniques in analysing information and making recommendations

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
