About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Nurse Advisor (Registered Nurse) to become part of the Brighter Access team. The role is focused on providing expert health care advice, participant assessments, developing care plans and training for staff. The successful candidate will be working across the organisation with people funded through NDIS. Some travel to other areas in the New England, Mid North Coast & Hunter may be required and can be negotiated.
General Duties include
- Development and assessment of Participant specific health and care plans.
- Provide health care advice and training for implementation of care plans to staff for the participants Brighter Access supports.
- Provide advice, and where required develop protocols for staff in relation to High Intensity Support, medication administration and other specific health related matters that may arise.
- Auditing current Participant plans to ensure care meets and exceeds the appropriate standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conducting staff skills audits that align with the NDIS Practice Standards.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Current registration with APHRA.
- Understanding of delivering care and developing care plans and procedures in line with the NDIS High Intensity Support Practice Standards.
- Experience in the development of care plans including bowel care procedures, ability to train staff and influence practice change where required.
- The ability to problem solve.
- Ability to work with and influence support worker practice.
- Have excellent time management skills.
- Have appropriate visa to work in Australia.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- NDIS worker check.
- Minimum two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (experience in Disability services highly regarded).
- Driver’s licence.
- Have an empathetic, understanding and collaborative approach to developing care plans in conjunction with Participants, Stakeholders, Staff and management.

- Flexible working arrangements. The role will initially be a 6-month contract for approximately 5 days per fortnight, however there is a strong possibility the role will become permanent and will be reviewed after 6 months. Hours of work and days can be negotiated.
