About the roleMater Hospital Brisbane Perioperative Department is currently seeking an experienced
Clinical Nurse to work within
Anaesthetics and Recovery (PACU). This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis.Salary range: $52.63 - $56.38 (Registered Nurse Level 2) per hour plus superannuation & salary packagingOur successful applicant will be required to perform shift work, and on call duties.
What you'll be doingOur Perioperative
Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide essential support to the Nurse Manager in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement. You will have a keen interest in Quality Improvement with a focus on but not limited to Leadership, Risk Management, Audits, Infection Control and the promotion of exceptional service provision.Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- ALS Certification
- Must have more than 3 years' experience in PACU
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
- Ability to lead a team
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
- Extensive knowledge of current National ANZCA standards as well as ACORN Standards and their alignment with the Perioperative Department
While not essential, applicants who currently have or are studying towards a tertiary qualification within this clinical specialty would be highly regarded.
